With proper care, our Anywhere Towels, Mighty Mini and Double Duty last years - not months. Recycled polyester is inherently more durable than cotton: it doesn't thin out with repeated washing, doesn't pill, and doesn't fade significantly even after dozens of wash cycles.
The biggest factors that shorten towel lifespan:
• Using bleach (degrades the
fiber)
• Using fabric softener
(reduces absorbency until the towel effectively stops working)
• High-heat drying repeatedly
(causes fiber breakdown over time)
Wash cold or warm, tumble dry low, skip bleach and softener, and these towels will still be performing well after two to three years of daily use. The cost per
use compared to paper towels becomes significant at that point.
Most do, ours don't. The short answer is that cotton towels stay damp for hours
after use, which creates the bacterial environment that causes odor. Our Waffle Towels are made from recycled polyester, which releases moisture in minutes. Without lingering dampness, there is nothing for odor-causing bacteria to feed on.

Yes, you can wash the sponge in the dishwasher, but keep in mind it doesn't work as effectively as machine washing. The dishwasher won't spin out all the debris that gets trapped inside. We recommend using the dishwasher only for a quick touch-up between machine washes. Also, don't forget to air dry the sponge after washing. Note: The sponge cannot be sterilized in the microwave.
Yes, our sponges are safe to use on all surfaces, including non-stick and ceramic, as they are non-scratch. However, we always recommend testing a small section first if your cookware is unique or has a special coating to ensure the best care.
Size and task fit. Both are made from the same GRS-certified recycled polyester blend and both are machine washable with the same care instructions.
Mighty Mini (13"×13", set of 3): Sized like a large paper towel sheet. Best
for everyday quick-grab tasks - wiping counters, drying hands, cleaning spills,
casual napkins. The smaller size makes it easy to reach for without thinking.
Double Duty (18"×18", set of 2): Sized like a bar mop or small dish towel. Best for tasks that need more coverage - drying a full rack of dishes, food prep, or use as a proper cloth napkin at the table.
Starting recommendation: If you're primarily replacing the paper towel roll, start with the Mighty Mini. If you want to also replace your dish towels or napkins, add a set of Double Duty alongside.
More absorbent - by a significant margin. A single Mighty Mini or Double Duty absorbs 7 times its weight in liquid. A standard paper towel absorbs roughly
its own weight before saturating. That means one reusable towel can handle what would take several paper towels to manage.
The difference is noticeable for large spills. With paper towels, a significant
spill requires stacking two or three sheets and pressing down to get the job
done. With the Mighty Mini, one towel placed flat absorbs the spill in a single
pass.

It depends on the material. Terry cotton towels should be washed every 2–3 days because they hold moisture and develop bacteria quickly. Recycled material towels like our Anywhere Towels, Mighty Minis and Double Duty dry fast enough that most households wash them once a week with their regular laundry - without any odor or hygiene issue in between.

Care Instructions:

For best results, wash your towels with other Once Again Home Co. products. We recommend using an earth-friendly detergent, such as Esos, which cleans effectively while being gentle on the environment.

The most effective thing you can do is choose a quick-dry material. Terry Cotton holds moisture; that moisture grows bacteria; the bacteria create odor. Switching to a recycled towel like our waffle towels (Anywhere Towel, Mighty Mini or Double Duty) eliminates the problem at the source - the towel dries in minutes after use and never gets to the damp stage where smell develops.
If you're using terry cotton towels and can't replace them: hang them fully open (not folded or bunched) after every use, wash them every 2–3 days, and skip fabric softener - it coats the fibers and slows drying.
Don't worry, we've got you covered! Removing stains from microfiber towels is easier than you think. First, always use cold water when washing as hot water can damage the fibers. Pre-treat any stains with a mixture of water and a gentle, eco-friendly stain remover. We like Enzyme Washes.
For tough stains, you can try rubbing a small amount of rubbing alcohol or white vinegar onto the affected area before washing. Just be sure to rinse thoroughly after treating with these products.
Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach when washing microfiber towels as they can leave residue and damage the fibers. Instead, use a gentle, eco-friendly detergent and wash on a gentle cycle.
